I have over 20 years of experience counseling in a school setting, working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I am also heavily involved in youth and men’s ministry at my church. During my recent internship in mental health counseling, I worked with individuals and couples, helping each to navigate through various life obstacles. In addition, I also have over 25 of athletic coaching experience at the varsity level.
Including but not limited to the following: Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Divorce, Relationship Issues, Spirituality, Sports Psychology, Grief and Loss, Personal Growth, and Diversity Issues.
My approach starts with a person-centered foundation. It is my belief that each client comes into my office with the strengths and abilities to overcome any obstacle standing in the way. Each client may simply be stuck and in need of some help to navigate through difficult waters. The client’s strengths are drawn upon to allow healing and resolution. Through this process, I tend to be active, willing to offer feedback to help guide treatment.
I work from an integrative therapeutic approach, primarily through the lens of Solution-Focused and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My specific approach is determined by the individual needs of the clients I serve. I work closely with each client to set therapeutic goals and move through the treatment plan towards healing and resolution.
I am passionate about mental health and advocating for my clients. I draw from the client’s strengths to elicit hope in the now to build confidence and assurance moving forward.
