I have prior experience working in a local community mental health organization and a residential treatment facility providing individual and group therapy. In the past I’ve had the pleasure of dealing with a diverse clientele and a variety of therapeutic issues.
Self-Esteem, Depression, Anxiety Disorders, Stress, Co-Occurring and Substance Abuse Disorders, Vocational/Work Concerns, Intrusive Thoughts, Personal Growth, Anger Management, Identity, Motivation, Work-Life Balance, Adjustment, Phase of Life, and Geriatric Issues.
In therapy my focus is on defining goals, creating balance, self-compassion and motivation through an approach based on the individuals presenting problems and needs. I believe in meeting the individual where they’re at in order to fully identify where they want to be. The therapeutic models I’m most influenced by are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and Solution Focused therapy with a style that is active and Client-Centered. My goal is for therapy to initiate self-discovery and assessment while developing self-efficacy. I believe in the importance of a therapeutic environment that is open, understanding and overall supportive.
