EXPERIENCE

I have been in the mental health field since 2007.  Initially, I worked as a direct care staff member in a residential treatment facility for children and adolescents with severe mental health concerns.  I returned to this setting as a clinician in 2012, where I conducted individual, family and group therapy.  Since 2016, I have worked in a private practice setting focused on providing individual and family therapy to children, adolescents and adults.

MY APPROACH

I utilize a strength-based approach, making efforts to join with my clients and understand not only where they currently are, but where they desire to be. I have great respect for my clients and understand the strength and courage it takes to seek out professional support. My goal is to create a safe and comfortable space in which I can assist my clients in achieving their goals. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy models to provide the framework that allows my clients to effectively identify, challenge and replace the negative belief systems associated with their mental health symptoms. I seek opportunities to bolster clients’ adaptive sense of self, allowing them to appreciate the internal strength they possess that has brought them to this moment in their lives. I find great joy in walking through this journey of personal growth and discovery with my clients. I value working in a multidisciplinary setting like 515 Therapy & Consulting where case consultation and collaboration are encouraged, as I find this integrated approach provides the best care and outcomes for clients.
