I have been practicing in the mental health field since 2007 in a variety of capacities. I worked as a direct care provider (in-home and community-based) and then as a team leader for an Assertive Community Treatment team. I then took on a role in managing outreach programs for a non-profit mental health organization while seeing therapy clients in the evening. For the past three years I have dedicated my time solely to serving clients in a private practice setting.
Depression and other Mood Disorders, Anxiety, Psychosis, Victims of Abuse, Stress Management, Infertility Issues, Pre and Postpartum anxiety and depression, Personal Growth, Women’s Issues, Phase of Life Issues, Grief and Loss, Relationship Stressors, Academic and Vocational Issues.
I empower my clients by helping them believe in themselves, their strengths and their capabilities. Whether the client is going through a time of grief, working their way through a transition, accepting an unwanted change or just feeling the need to improve their lives, I meet my client where they are and establish goals based on what they want their future to look like. As a team, we work to understand the client’s background, family dynamics, core beliefs, values and personal experiences and how these might shape their view of the world. I am client-centered and, therefore, adjust the approach I utilize to fit the need of the client. I have experience working with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, narrative therapy, and mindfulness.
