EXPERIENCE

I have been practicing in the mental health field since 2012. I have had the opportunity to provide individual and family therapy to children and their families who have been impacted by adverse and traumatic life experiences in a school setting. Most recently, I have practiced in an outpatient mental health clinic providing services to children, adolescents, adults and families with a diverse range of presenting concerns.

MY APPROACH

One of my deepest values as a therapist is to develop a supportive and trusting relationship with clients where they feel heard, understood and supported through navigating the concerns that brought them to therapy. I believe therapy is a safe space to discover ways to feel empowered to make positive steps towards improving their overall wellbeing.

My approach is client centered, strength based and individualized to each specific client’s needs. I am an active therapist by guiding clients in learning tools and resources to help them feel better able to express, cope and respond in their daily life in healthy ways. I have a special interest in trauma healing and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

My interventions are largely influenced by training and interest in the following therapeutic models: EMDR Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Family Systems, Motivational Interviewing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness.

I am a trained EMDR therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) and hold a certificate in postpartum mood disorders through Postpartum Support International.
