EXPERIENCE
In 2015, I received my associate degree in nursing. My passion has always been
mental health and I knew I wanted to use my nursing degree in the mental health
field. I began working as a registered nurse on an inpatient mental health unit
and continued to work on various inpatient units in Iowa and Missouri for the next
6 years. During my nursing career, I returned to school to further my education
and career and work towards becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse
Practitioner. Since graduating in 2021, I have worked in an outpatient setting for
over a year now and have thoroughly enjoyed providing medication management
to adults and children.

MY APPROACH
I believe in providing safe, non-judgmental psychiatric medication management for ages 4 and up. I use responsible and evidence-based prescribing practices in establishing a trusting relationship with each patient. I also believe in a collaborative approach, not only with just the patient, but also with the therapists or other providers to provide a comprehensive and individually tailored treatment plan.
*Medication Management: Initial evaluations will be up to 60-minutes with 20-minute follow up appointments. Prescriptions and refills are provided during these appointments. If you need a medication refill, please contact your pharmacy. Plan to call at least three (3) business days ahead of the needed refill. A pending appointment is necessary in order to authorize refills. Frequency of appointments is individualized to meet individual health needs. Appointments can be scheduled through the 515 Therapy web portal (you will need a user name and password) or by calling (515) 402-4380. If you have a medication question, please message us through the online portal or call nurse Amela at (515) 402-4380. Please save any in depth clinical questions for our appointments together. You may leave a confidential message on her desk phone, and she will make every attempt to return your call within 24 hours. Urgent situations need to be directed to the emergency room or by dialing 911.
