EXPERIENCE
In 1996 I received my associate degree in Radiology from UT Brownsville along with multiple certifications for different modalities. I found myself wanting to provide additional help for patients, so I received my bachelor’s degree in nursing from UT Texas. Two years later, I obtained my teaching certification and taught high school for four years. This is when I first became interested in psychiatry. I had so many students that needed assistance, and I wanted to be able to help them myself. After four years of teaching, I started my master’s program through Walden University in Minneapolis to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. I began working in an inpatient unit, and this is where my knowledge base flourished. After gaining a broad understanding, I was ready to evolve and utilize my knowledge in a private practice setting where I am excited to develop an intimate connection with my clients as opposed to a transitional setting.

MY APPROACH
I believe in a wholistic approach to assist those in distress. My hope is to help my patients find clarity, and build a strong balance between mind, heart, body, and soul. We each have a special story, and every individual presents with unique symptoms. I am passionate about taking a collaborative approach whether that is between the patient and myself or the patient, myself, and a therapist or other providers. Collaboration is key to being able to address each patient’s goals.
