Emily has over 7 years of experience in the mental health and social services field including in residential treatment facilities, community health centers, and schools. Emily has several years experience in the college counseling setting, working with student athletes, non-traditional, first generation, and international exchange students.

MY APPROACH

I am passionate about being an advocate for my clients and am dedicated to providing trauma-informed, culturally sensitive care. My holistic approach to counseling considers the importance of surrounding systems, adversity, and stigma clients may face and how this impacts therapy. I practice from several therapeutic modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), relational-cultural therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, and feminist theory.

 

My goal is to create an atmosphere that promotes acceptance and self-awareness. Through vulnerability, collaboration, and growth-fostering relationships, I believe anyone can be empowered to make positive change.
